ABOUT

I am a Visual Artist from the North East of Scotland. After graduating in BA (Hons) Fine Art, Painting I have been in both Scotland and New Zealand connecting with the landscape and exploring the natural environment.

My work focusses on the environment surrounding me and how people explore and connect with it. Both place and travel are explored in many ways, such as collecting objects and setting out on unknown journeys. Taking inspiration from patterns in nature, geography, landforms and found objects that I collect along the way.

I am interested in mapping and cartography and the language that maps deploy. Like a cartographer I use the process of selection. In my practice through painting and drawing, I explore the idea of an ever-changing place using organic patterns, subtle colour changes and mark making to represent the terrain.

What is created represents my experience of the world and invites the viewer to look at their relationship with land.
